We made Oobleck during Sci-Fri!
It was such a fun experiment and cool to watch the Non-Newtonian fluid become a
liquid and a solid.
Oobleck is a non-newtonian
fluid. That is, it acts like a liquid when being poured, but like a solid when
a force is acting on it. You can grab it and then it will ooze out of your
hands.
The students thought this was great!
TRY IT AT HOME!
Start with 1 1/2 cups of cornstarch
(the more cornstarch the thicker the Oobleck-your choice!) and then add 1 cup of water. You can
always add color with some food coloring as well!
