We are learning about graphing in Math and the importance of getting
information and showing it in a graph. We had a lot of fun graphing
Lucky Charms cereal (made sure to tell the kids to not sneak a bite
since they were used last year too!). They worked as a table group to
pass around a bag with the Lucky Charm marshmellows in it. They picked
out one marshmellow and told their table which they picked so they all
could make an "X" on the graph above that marshmellow picture. After we
were done, they had to get information from their graph such as, 1) How
many marshmellows did their bag have total and, 2) Which marshmellow had
more? We got our stats and wrote them on the board to compare!

Sci-Fri Volcanoes!
We had our first Sci-Fri experiment! Every Friday, we are going to do a fun hands-on Science experiment. We will call it Sci-Fri (for Science Friday :) We will talk about the experiment before we start and be able to hypothesize what might happen. Then we will dive in! We had so much fun with our first one! We had a bin full of Baking Soda and cups filled with vinegar and food coloring. With droppers, we dropped the vinegar/food coloring mixture and watched what happened - the vinegar meeting with the Baking soda made bubbles almost like it was erupting like a volcano! In the end we were allowed to touch the mixture to see what it felt like (most said it was sand-like and soft) and then we poured the rest of the vinegar mixture in to really watch it all bubble! Stay tuned for more Sci-Fri experiments!!
